Listen to My Own Heart

I am going to listen to my own heart,
for I can only be true to myself.
If I want to move forward in life,
I must make my dreams a reality.

I can’t handle everyone always talking at me,
telling me where I should go, or
what I need to do so I can be
successful in their eyes.

My dream to chase must be my own,
I can’t be happy loving someone else’s dream.
If it’s not mine, it is a lie, and
I refuse to live a lie for anyone.

I’m going to listen to my own heart,
be true only to myself.
I want to move forward in life, and
make my dreams a reality.
