A prayer for the nameless

For the blessed, the shameless
the stranger forsaken
neglected and blameless
longing salvation
the selfish at heart
lost on the way
I pray

For the wicked, the weary
believing in freedom
afflicted and merely
looking for reasons
comfortable servants
now gone astray
I pray

For the truthful, the callous
the gracious in sorrow
removed from the balance
always to follow
the broken in trust
burning in hate
I pray

For the givers, the keepers
disgraced by consumption
from sinners to teachers
facing corruption
clothed in resplendence
promises made
I pray

For the lofty, the numbered
ordained in forever
lost to the wonder
praising together
callers of heaven
no words to say
I pray

For the humble, the mighty
sustaining the greatness
the ones who shine brightly
shading the faithless
hidden in darkness
all who remain
I pray
