you could have said something,
anything to let me know you cared.

I was young and alone,
searching for someone to love,
only wanting to be loved in return.

I needed someone to lean on,
to teach me the right way, and
build my confidence in myself.

Instead, you tore me down,
sliced me with your words,
killed my spirit everyday.

I didn’t have to die,
you could have saved me,
with simple, kind words.
