Remembering the loss of a love one

                   "Sad Sounds of a Midnight Train"


                   The click-clacking of a midnight train forewarns me,
                   awakening a lifetime stowed-away memory.

                   Train whistles its lonesome spirit song,
                   a love story resonating within my saddened soul.
                   Losing you and forgetting where I belong,
                   I've pushed away the tears that track heart's toll.

                   But now silent streams on my cheeks flow freely;
                   Long ago train sounds took a soldier away from me.
