Putting My Life Back Together

Time to put my life back together,
break away the chains that bind me,
rise up off knees that hurt, and
free myself from weights that hold me down.

I’m going to make my dreams come true,
stop being a follower and be a leader,
soar to new heights I did not know,
and be proud of who I have become.

It’s time to make my stand,
set myself apart from the rest,
shoot into the sky like a Roman candle,
and fill my days with bright colors.
