| Under the Moon The beauty of the moon that is a million miles away Hovering overhead in the sky so far above Present for us to see and others to see as well Intimately feeling our deepest painful thoughts that dwell It is under this moon that we search for understanding To life’s greatest confusions and human lack of love withstanding So many people So many stories So much confusion Hiding true glory Under this moon we all abide So separated by vast differences But also connected by one common thread The need for Love The longing for purpose Although individual and alone we stand Our hearts hold secrets in common For in stillness and silence, we reflect and hope For resolution connection and belonging Our hearts so open exposed and vulnerable As the dawn arises, another busy day begins The longings get hidden, pushed back into the dirt once again postponing a a unified calling for Peace on Earth With Respect, Hope, Joy and Love, Carmela Line count 25 "Shadows and Light Poetry Contest" |
