Angel on my shoulder prompt for monthly poetry contest |
| 147 words 37 lines Prompt: Angels on my shoulder Angels on my shoulder By Lisa Noe So many times I’ve come near to death I’ve broken bones and lost my breath I’ve wrecked my car, rammed it against a tree But something always looked out for me I believe in another life, that greets us when we die But until the Lord says when I must, death defy There must be an angel on my shoulder God must have spoke, He must have said, she shall live until she’s older I’ve seen that angel more than one time It’s saved me, as I’ve witnessed the sublime I’ve seen magic, yes miracles As I move in God’s circles Goodness will always prevail My angel surely tells I’ve done what I’m supposed to do But yet God wants me to convince you. Love is what makes the world turn Love is what for most of us yearn Angels they exist, walking along with us God has sent them his messengers to quiet down the fuss. |
