Much More Than Just Say No

Beating my addiction

It's a downward spiral,
This addiction of mine.
"Just say no"
Just leave it behind.
It's not that easy.
I should know.
I'd been hooked on drugs,
One hundred years or so.
Believe me I've tried.
I've done all I can.
Support groups, replacement drugs.
There seemed to be know end.
Then I turned to God.
I gave it all to him.
He removed the burden,
So I could begin again.
Still the road was long.
But with the Lord by my side.
slowly my life returned,
He showed me a spiritual high.
Now I live my life for him.
Helping others is my goal.
For everyone I can help,
Brings peace to my soul.
Now I can live with myself.
I can look you in the eye.
I am proud to say,
I live with the Lord by my side.
