A poem about skin: Line count = 19 |
| I saw Grandma today! I saw her age spots and wrinkles in the skin of my left arm and I wondered when I became my Grandmother. Yesterday, I saw Mama. I saw her in the wrinkles embedded in the skin of my forehead and I wondered when I became my Mother. Their likeness is engraved in my skin, tattooed in the epidermal layers of my body, in the wrinkles and age spots that tie me to my maternal line. |
