Restless tears upon a pillow
Sleepless nights that drift away
Haunting thoughts like shadows billow
Lost and lonely, cold and grey
Frame forgotten fears that thrill
Too hurt, too strong to fight, we cry
Emotion urging overkill
Elicits but the dream to die

Shattered shards of reminiscence
Knives that twist within the soul
Like ice, embodies every essence
Freezing, teasing to be whole
The darkness calls in sweet abandon
Fantasy on wing takes flight
Arrows pierce the heart at random
Fall into an endless night

Black the ashes of the mind
Invasive nightmares buried deep
Grief and sorrow intertwined
Silent screams devouring sleep
Ever present, bent and broken
Thoughts like weeds now slowly creep
Phoenix rising, words now spoken
Gently, gently, sit and weep.
