Anthropocene Epoch

This is going to be a poem for PWW

Anthropocene Epoch

"Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect."
Mark Twain

A new epoch
the age of humanity
singly and alone
we cannot impact
or guarantee our own survival
much less that of the planet.

Together we influence
a new geological epoch,
the new age of humanity.

Am I in tune with the new age,
the new epoch?

Humanity thinking
is in the minority;
the majority attitude
is individual survival,
but I cannot survive alone and unaided.

My survival depends
upon the survival
of the human species.
