A poem inspired by the "Say it in 6" contest picture that I saw on the Hub. |
| She wanted to pay a visit to that old, wooden bridge The one that leads to her town Teased with vines and buckled planks Home of bugs and most likely snakes It's where her last memories are bound She fled from her estranged parents many years ago To this very same bridge After a stormy fight And on an equally stormy night Underneath, she and her broken heart hid Rain, leaves, and terrible wind accompanied her as she wished for a miracle below When suddenly there was light that split through the night And through the bridge as if it were hollow Now she stands here reminiscing about the sorrowful girl of twelve that chose this bridge instead Between a damaged home and a life unknown She's more peaceful in heaven's bed |
