Him or You

A poem. Enjoy!

your depth took a while to sink in
he was instantly striking but paper-thin
you came to me
I had to find him
Every time I walked by you’d smile
Realization I was in the room took him a little while
You are strong, both out and in
He needs people to strengthen him
Your hand took mine to my surprise
His did to, with hesitation in his eyes
You saw sadness and tried to take it away
He was the one who caused me that pain
You said the words that still ring in my ears
He filled my head with his immature fears
You make me feel confident
He makes me feel attention-bent
sure both of you are still in my mind
and my feelings for both will change over time
but one thing I ask, and please tell me true
do you think I like him or do you think I like you?
