The Mayonnaise Butterfly

It all went downhill
when the butterfly landed in the bowl of mayonnaise.
I knew it would be long lasting
Everyone else thought it was a phase

My son liked to play with insects
bugs and flies
He would put them everywhere
even in your eyes

He collected them in jars
to spring on people at a later date
Nobody ever knew
their bug infested fate

We would find them
on burgers, in salads, or even cake
anything that was edible
and they weren't fake

He had to be stopped
and this had to cease
who knows what's next
it could be the pizza eaten by the piece
