Breaking Out

This was written after I realized how gullible I could be and that I needed to stand up.

I've been shrouded in darkness
Eclipsed from the truth
Innocently trusting others
To guide me on the right path

Tonight this pattern disintegrates
I begin to stand on my own two feet
Advocate for my rights
And to show all my strengths

I am competent in my own right
But occasionally requiring guidance
I may stumble along the way
I will always persevere

With the death of my previous self
A stronger version of me is born
