A Writer's Cramp Entry |
| It’s interesting that many of the things we can do to improve our health also fatten our pocketbook. Example: According to several sources on the Internet, the average smoker can save more than $1500 a year by cutting out cigarettes. Breaking free from a daily soda habit can add a hundred dollar bill (or more) to one’s wallet. Giving up alcohol, coffee, lunch at restaurants . . . ?? Write a poem or story about getting wealthy due to breaking a costly habit. Avoid the drug scene, though; that’s too obvious. CHOCOLATE Choosing this treat has been sweet Having ready access is hard to beat Only drawback has been my weight Changing my routine will be my fate A commitment to myself is what I'll make Learning to deprive myself is for my sake Any amount of money that I save Turns into a benefit I gladly gave Eventually, I'll smile big with the result being something great |
