Although it seemed like nothing
When you sent those words my way,
In my mind they kept replaying.
Contaminating my brain.

What you said had hurt me.
Stabbed me like a knife.
The pain that it has caused me
Cut so deep, forced me to fight.

You say that I deserved it.
But why would that be so?
And when you have no answer
You say it was just a joke.

But jokes are supposed to be funny.
You're meant to respond with delight
Instead you gave me painful wounds
And wrong notions to make right.
