The stranger

A stranger helped us at an unexpected time

It was a rainy night, dark and cold
my son was sick and
I took him to the doctor
with my wife

on our way home it was very late
we had been waiting for a bus a long time
heavy rain, very dark, we were alone
shivering in the bus stand

it was empty except for the three of us
our son was clinging to wife's body
after some time later there came a car
it stopped by us & motioned us to get in

in the car, I gave driver directions to our home
and he dropped us at our gate and
we got down and ran to the house
under the pouring rain

"go and thank him" wife said
I ran to the gate to thank him
all I could see was
vanishing tail light of the stranger's car
