Grand Daughter Chaneli

She was born in Abu Dhabi in 2015 February 17th & came to Sri Lanka on 4th December.

Gradually the plane came to a stop
Right then I saw the rising sun
And she came with a smile on her face
No one has seen her before
December fourth was that day

During the ride to home
Always looking at the scenery
Using her bright, pretty eyes
Glowing in the sun light
Her hands touching mine
The excitement showing in her face
Entire body poised to embrace everything
Ran to the house in quick steps

Collapsed in the chair to rest
Happy in her mood
Arms stretching outward
Now very slowly she came to me
Eyes never leaving my face
Lips touching my face
I embraced my grand-daughter
