Story for We Write For Kids Contest

The Noise At The Door

When ghost and bat
Fly through dark skies
And leaves fall to the ground

What makes that scratch
At bedroom door
A skeleton visiting town?

Or creepy crawly
Caterpillar
entering my room?

Full moon's glow
Will show the beast
Prowling in the gloom!

No witch's hat
No monster's claw
Alas! What can it be?

A wagging tail
And licking tongue
You've come back I see!

My lost puppy
Home at last
Safe and sound with me!
