| Senator McCarthy Joseph R McCarthy A Senator became Ruined lives adorned his path Along the road to fame His reign was in the '50s He crushed his every foe Communists he saw everywhere He knew they had to go If you stood against him Your future wasn't bright Accusations false and vile He'd claim to bring to light It wasn't only "commies" McCarthy sought to rout He had no tolerance for gays He wanted them all out For years his star shone brightly Before his time was done He drove a man to suicide Then things became undone When the U.S. Senate Decided to strike back They voted for his censure His name was stained and black Senator McCarthy Began a lonely fall At the age of 48 He died from alcohol |
