what I felt I had to do

A poem I wrote years ago It's not great but it was a start

what I felt I had to do


You asked me if I loved yes this I do I said I would never leave you and turned
and walked away I asked you not to hate me I did what I felt I had to do
I never meant to hurt you never meant to make you cry its all I could do not to
turn and look into your 'Angel eyes' I know I done you wrong when I left
I didn't come back but I'm sorry and please don't hate me I did what I felt I
had to do I saw the pain in your eyes the day I left I'll remember my love for you
I'll never forget there is never enough words to say how sorry I am and
how I miss you so I tried to call you and let you know friendship means more
to me than nothing at all please don't hate me I did what I felt I had to do.
