This day

my poem for today

This day started awful
as I got out of bed trying to be so careful.
My mood was tired, my mood was flat
As I fed the dog then fed the cat.
Then got a message about a forgotten thing,
and the kindness of these two people made my heart sing.
dishes washed, house tidied up,
and then drank a coffee from my favourite cup.
Out the door, to the park
singing to the radio like a lark.
Then round and round Pip and I went
Oh!!! she is so heaven sent.
Met some owners, dogs running free
Pip strained on the lead, the dogs to see.
They all said hello, wet noses meeting
A lovely canine greeting.
Then home Pip and I did go,
a warm feeling, seeping through my soul, it did flow.
Home again, mood stable, mood happy,
forgotten morning that was so crappy.
I find my moods are like the sea,
sometimes rising like a mighty tree.
other times sinking like walking on wet sand
that's when I need a helping hand.
The good lords always with me, I know now,
Before him I praise and take a bow.
