Oceans Apart

About the steady commitment that a distance relationship must both enjoy and endure.

Unbelievably far away
Brought together so close
By a promise of tomorrow

That one day we would be able
To share our experiences with,
To cherish one another’s embrace,
To even just be around.

But even a million miles away
We hold true to a certain creed:
That should we ever be in any trouble
Or be in need for any reason;
No matter the distance or consequence,
They would come back running.

It’s important to remember though
What needs to be done; needs to be done
For the reason that they travel to the ends of the earth:
To not only keep us safe
But to turn that dream of tomorrow
Into a never-ending
Unfaltering
            Reality.
