In light of recent events in our law system, I write this as an opinionated piece |
| A man stood at his post On the Mexico border one day. A wind whipped up a sandstorm And blew his sheriff's hat away. It landed on a rattlesnake, He left it there for fear. A man came from the US side and whispered in his ear: "Mexican bandits come this way" The man in the suit said. "Make sure that they cannot get in The US unless they're dead." The man slipped him some cash And went along his way. Then other men from the Mexico side Came along later that day. They showed the man their papers, Turned their pockets inside out. He let them pass without a pause, One let out a horrid shout. The rattlesnake had bit him. They rushed him to the van. It goes to show, trust the law, But behind it is a snake of a man. |
