Plight of the furry dog

morning sunlight like a ball of fire

brings to me much desire

the rain has visited for days

I’m happy to see the golden rays

A rainbow spreads a bough in the land

Colors bright like a wonderland

Crispy blue, pink, and yellow

As bright as an angel’s halo



.   



fragrant flowers scenting the land

I pick them and hold them in my hand

A bouquet of roses sweet and perfumed

The weather did not affect it, it’s not consumed

a kitten sits on the window seal

watching the world and forming ideals

a hound whimpers and then he sighs

you can almost see the tears in his eyes





for he’s been left out in the rain

though now it’s sunny they’ll do it again.

Care not for him, because he’s cold and wet

Remember always your special pet.

Whether the rainbow shines or  the rain falls

Remember the dog and the cat and their souls.

Regardless, the wiry dog with the freckled face

Is happy to be here in this place.
