A poem that describes a hungry child. |
| The Hungry Child Hair curled on his head like goat droppings Neck thin and long like the bottle of maggi Ears large and wide like the chief's fan Nose forever running like River Niger Collarbones jutting out like Olumo rock Huge belly like a nine month old pregnancy Legs thin like toothpicks Feet spread wide as if to ensure protection against the wind From afar he looks like a bag of corn balanced on two sticks Hand stretched out in request The hungry child. |
