I am considering having a party.
It will go on ‘til dawn;
Everyone can come.

Our sorrows will shed to the floor
Like moths fly
To the light
At the door.

I will wear a brand new dress.
It will make me feel like someone else.

And the wine will flow,
Canapes be eaten.
We will sing
At the top of our voices
To old fashioned song choices,
Hug and kiss each other
Like sisters and brothers.

If you miss the bus home
You can sleep on the floor.
I have the room
For five
Or six more.

I am considering having a party.
Here is your invitation –
Please regard it with some elation

And RSVP
By Monday next.
