guilty pleasures

yes, I do watch reality television

before I turn the tv on
I take a look around
I make sure the kitchen rings
with monster killing sound

that’s what my parents do for fun
it’s their addictive tether
because they know computer games
are much more fun together

I look into the other room
just to assuage my fear
my sister’s watching anime
and so she cannot hear

and when she takes the earplugs out
she won’t come bother me
because her vice is fanfiction
and not my junk tv

so, now I know they will not see
my face turn blushing red
and when the theme sings they won’t seek
my way to go brain dead

I know that my imperial shame
is worse that any other
because it’s summer and it’s time
I need to watch Big Brother
