Call it coercion, maybe perversion
Yet, at the end of the day, it's still a diversion
Lust, sorrow and drugs go hand in hand
Whether dumped in the gutter
or exploited from a one-night stand
Now lust's lost it's glimmer
Heartstrings are worn even thinner
All the sorted places, all the strung out faces
Now you question if the stars really shine home
Even if you double down with the knowledge that all
roads lead to Rome,
Every heart that's been broken
Cast off like a token
and love that's been treated like a stray
Nevertheless still locked in your heart to stay
Weighed down rust that's never meant to be
Calls out like a victim, stranded in the sea
Damned up emotion; never to be forgotten
all the while cumbersome
The wreckage that's rotten
Now, Novocaine won't ease your pain
No refrain
from this torrential rain.
