On Mother's Day

A special mom.

To the one who held my in trouble

And gave me support through all my struggles

She was there to wipe my tears

And guide me past my biggest fears

Her love was there to watch me

With a calming word in calamity

No card or flower can compare

To your sure hand and loving care 

I remember the days when I was young

The apple of your eye, your beloved son

You guided me through thick and thin

Even when I disobeyed and chose to sin

You brought me up in the way of the Lord

To resist temptation and the Devil’s lure

I thank God greatly for gifting me with you

A gracious mother who will always stay true

No matter old I am you will look after me

With love, patience and joyous glee

I loathe the day when you finally depart

When your words cease to talk to my heart

But I know even when you leave me behind

My soul will hold you and you will shine

Someday I’ll meet when I pass like you

With eternal peace and all made new

So on this happy mother’s day I wish you well 

With feelings and happiness that none can tell
