A Time for Kindness

An abstract poem written in response to a slate of negative reviews here at WDC - enjoy!

Our time for civility, hope, and caring has arrived -
And an act of kindness and forebearance
Is long overdue;
For tolerance appears filled with regret and remorse
As our unhappy lives seem to unravel,
But this is mostly due to inherent pride
And our ill-fated and poorly-timed misfortunes.
But we can share laughter, smiles,
And inner strength
With our treasured partners and worthwhile guests
If we seek everlasting peace and our own,
Surprising, superior resolve;
By rolling with those proverbial punches
And issuing saintly warmth and goodness
To our fellow human beings and relations,
In these amazing, yet inopportune times
Which we currently face...
