Our Easter Joy

She carried her basket carefully.
It only had one egg
but the smile on her face
was brighter than the sun.
As we walked to the car
she picked a little flower from the yard.
“I love you mommy.” she said
as she put it in my hand.
This was a gift of one miracle
from another wonderful miracle.
Olivia was my Easter joy
born five years ago.
A joy through adoption to
parents who could bear no child.
