The Quintessence of the Thing

THE QUINTESSENCE OF THE THING

Writing is not easy
It’s a complicated thing
Maybe if I stop and think
Creativity will ping!

But if I sit and do not type
My efforts start to stray
They seem to melt and fizzle
Like deliquescence, in a way

But if I try to use large words
It’s hard to make them rhyme
Vocabulary tumescence!
It should be a writing crime!

So maybe it is better
To just let my best words sing
Putting words on paper
Is the quintessence of the thing!
