Bidding Farewell

I may leave but not for long
I may travel but not that far
Going away was never easy
Leaving behind all I've known

I am taking along your memories
And leaving behind mine
Treasure them with care
For if I may never come
That is all you have left there

Flames flicker within me
That produce burning embers
I shall let my light shine
To ignite the darkest places
To drive away the shadows

I shall bid farewell to you for now
But Goodbyes are not forever
For the sun sets to shine again
And night descends to dawn again
