Will be updating with my poems |
| The following is one I got published for a countywide contest Imagine -- You're walking down the street with your eyes closed, Blind to the world around you. Each and every one of us in our own world, Unaware of the troubles of our peers. Sometimes it feels like I'm on the edge of a mountain, One more push and I fall. No one notices. It is in our humanity; Our nature, To think not about the ones around us. Inborn within us all is this fight or flight reaction We'd rather run than stay and fight a battle that isn't ours. So you keep walking, And you don't even realize the moans in the distace. People rotting, Souls torn, And bones just about cracked. If you were to stop for a moment, And open your eyes, Things might be different. ...If only we weren't blind. |
