Crazy Heart


In the darkness late at night
When sleep decides to hide from me
I think about the memories that came
And all the things that might have been

Sometimes the sadness overwhelms me
Then there's no stopping the tear drops
I lay there so sad and all alone
Trying to forgive my crazy heart

That's when I promise
No one will get near it
That's when I promise
No one will ever touch it

That's when I make the vow
No one will break my crazy heart again

In the darkness late at night
Feeling the emptiness beside me
I think about her pretty smile
And the eyes that stole my love

Sometimes that leaves me so lonely
I don't even notice I'm crying
I lay there feeling like a fool
Trying to understand my crazy heart

That's when I promise
No one will get near it
That's when I promise
No one will ever touch it

That's when I make the vow
No one will break my crazy heart again
