The Other Way

A dream inspired poem.

I know of a place where the road will split into two

One way leads to heaven, the other way leads there too



But one way is magic, wonder and delight

And the other has the evils of the night



And now say which way you would take, my beloved one

She said, I'll take the other way, my stars and my sun



Very well, I agreed

I'll take that scary road



But I wondered what she thought

As along that way I rode



Finally, I could wait no longer anymore

So I asked why she would go that scary road



She said, heaven would be eternally bright

Before she went she would face her fears tonight



So up on that way we saw her demons and fears

And when she saw each one, she screamed and came to tears



And, at last, it was over and she gave a great sigh

Saying I have faced my fears but now heaven is nigh!
