One Earth evolves to a wanton pace
Birds alight to a midnight dawn
To sing again an old sad song
With children reeling, anew and wise
To find for us a hard won prize
A soul is shattered against this plane
To break in two and traverse in vain
Denying law or the common theme
Its demon seed in another's dream
To seize upon a wild one's mind
Encompass one soul in malevolent time
No longer two but one sane soul
