Images of Christ

another poem.

My image of Christ is;

A rag and bone man;
A gardener in a park;
A tarnished and blood-stained Knight;
A wanderer with a lantern, a guide in the dark;

A rag and bone man;
Tooting his horn, looking
For treasure;
His own to call;

A gardener;
With his hands covered in gunk;
Sowing and weeding out of love;
For the plants;

A knight with armour dented;
Tabbard stained;
Compassion for the downtrodden, the weak;
The widow and the lame;

Wandering the darkness;
A lantern in his hand saying
"Come, follow me";
"Let me guide your path";

My image of Christ;
Lowly and loving;
a warrior and kind;
Leading by doing;

Loving with both heart and mind;
