Morning Awaking

When I wake up next to you
it feels like time is standing still.
I open my eyes to sun rays beautifully
falling upon the room.
Silently we lay in each others presence,
only half awake.
Slowly we awake from
our night sleep.
Drifting in and out of restfulness.
Outside birds have been awake since dawn,
singing their heart songs to one another.
I turn my to you as you are still sleeping
ever so contentedly.
All cozy under the spreads.
We lay unaware of the out side.
an hour later we sleepily greet
each other "good morning".
