I may never understand the reason why,
Your excuses will never fly,
For it was unacceptable to begin with,
what you did.

They told me the truth
when I was just ten.
They thought that I missed you,
so they wanted me to know,
what you did.

I want to know why
but you are not around anymore.
I am afraid to know why
and hear the truth,
how it could really be my fault.

Daddy tried to help you
but you just pushed him away.
You let things get out of control,
and took it out on me.

I was just a little girl,
Only two years old.
I deserved better,
but was given you.

You could have been better
if you just let them help you.
But no,
You chose a different course instead.

You decided to stay sick.
Which in turn,
almost brought me,
to an end.

Your hands were on
my tiny throat.
You tried to take away
the very life you gave…
but my life is not yours to take.
