English Sonnet written for Round 9 of "The Perfect Sonnet Contest" |
| Dear Sailor, come and take mine hand in thine while still mine heart might hold to Hope and Light. O're ever empty shores my Faith doth shine, and lonesome seas where Dawn hath drowned in Night. Come sail the vessel breaking through the Ice, be thine the lips that bring their Blaze to mine. To end my tower'd watch, and sweet, entice mine eyes to drown in thine, our hearts entwine'd. My dear, this shall a sweet immersion be! How eagerly thy charms I'm longing for! To hide within the arms of only thee, escaping walls hope bade I long endure. Thy Love shall be a ship to set me free; mine heart be Hearth to thee, sail home to me. Form: English Sonnet ▶︎ An entry for Round 9 of "The Perfect Sonnet Contest" Theme:Love and Romance |
