Wishful Eyes

I wrote this after I was told to give up on my dreams

Close your eyes make a wish
Don't hold back give it your all
What have you wanted that you never had
Something that isn't within your grasp
But you've seen it every day right in front
It can be anything it does not matter
Your mind is endless always creating
Do you even know what this thing is
Or are you blinded by societies clutches
The clutches of a world holding you back
Did it vanish from your thoughts
Was it taken away with the snap of a finger
Perhaps it was stolen from prying eyes
Whether the case you should always ponder
Creating that inner thought you so desire
A simple desire burnt into your eye
Eyes closing to make a wish that you wanted
For you chose to not hold back
