Sometimes being betrayed is worse than being loved. |
| "Lucinda. Please." I stare at the man across from me. His dark eyes glint with dark brown that I had found so alluring. The same brown eyes I had loved when we first met. 'We don't have to do this. Just join us." He holds his hand out but I take a step back. "Lucy...." I back up some more. "You know I can catch you." I turn and run anyway. I try to find a way out. Somewhere away from him. But he's there in front of me, throwing me across the room like it's nothing. I crash into my mother's last painting. The painting of me on my birthday. "I told you." I turn back toward him. He stands over me smiling slightly so I can see his fangs. He never loved me. He just wanted to get close to my family. To kill them. He betrayed me....... (Over 100 years later) I sit straight in my bed. Awaken by the nightmare that had startled me awake. Why do these memories still haunt me? |
