Jesus Loves Me

A poem I wrote based on the traditional children's song, "Jesus Loves Me"

Jesus loves me, this I know
And this is why He loves me so:
On a cross He died for me
That, from my sins, I’d be set free
He paid the price and bore the shame
Now in His book I have my name
Though He died, He rose once more
And now He lives forevermore
So on Life’s sea, if you are tossed,
Sad, lonely, cast down, or lost,
Just reach out and take His hand
Then on the Solid Rock you’ll stand
Life will toss you and be rough
But His Blood will be enough
To see you through as long as you live
Thanks to the forgiveness He freely gives!
So even through trials, troubles, and fears,
Heartache, sadness, and all my fears
Even when Satan brings me low
Jesus loves me, this I know!
