emotions taking over

wind whipping
across my hair
rain drops running
down my cheeks
indistinguishable from the tears
tidal waves
crashing upon
my body
drenching through
capturing the emotion
beating so heavy
in my heart
but have been
trying to overlook
in my head
I know
the time
has long come
to let the wave
wash over me
and take it back into the sea
as it crashes back into the shore
though this heart
is not willing to let go
of what could have been
to do it all over again
and make it right
