How much is emotions truly valued?

As time goes by

And life soon fades,

Eyes fall shut

And life decays,

This mask I bear

Can never slide,

For once it does

I'd have nothing left to hide.

Can true emotion

Be valued so little?

Or is it our lack of emotion

That makes life so brittle?
