Poem

I just recently started writing again, this is my first poem out of the gates.

Poem
My jump back into poetry,
  We will see how it goes.
It has been since I was a kid...
  I'm rusty expect some lows.

Once upon a time I wrote
  Many moons ago
I wrote because my teacher said
  Or I had some steam to blow

I think I like poetry
  I sometimes like to read it
Writing it is tougher though
  I readily concede it

When I read the poetry of greats
  I'm like damn I wish I'd wrote that
It's a shame they'll never know
  What it meant from where I sat

The greats probably wished they'd wrote
  Some of the epics from before their time
But the epics that predated them
  Came from just another creative mind
