The Crash


Tom's world faded in and out, almost in synch with the howl of the ambulance's siren.  The attendants worked valiantly, knowing it was hopeless.

"Think he knows his car missed the stroller?"

At those words, Tom tensed, sighed, then went still.

"Look at that smile.  If he didn't know before, he did at the end."
